I’m Catarina, but my friends call me Cata

I’m a documentary editorial wedding and lifestyle photographer based on the beautiful coast of the Algarve, Portugal.

Originally from Lisbon, I had the privilege of living in Prague for a few months, and when I later moved to the Algarve, I was completely captivated by its landscapes, its light, and its simplicity. I originally studied video, but I fell in love with photography and decided to follow my true passion.

I have a completely cliché story about how my passion started (oops) — when I was a child, I loved looking through my parents’ albums. The magic and romance in those images deeply inspired me and are still at the heart of what I do today.

My work is focused on natural moments, real connections, and all the small details that make each love story unique. Inspired by old films and timeless romance, I photograph weddings and couples in an honest, emotional, and storytelling way.

I’m completely passionate about traveling — whether it’s a big city or a paradise island — so if you’re planning a destination wedding, I would love to be part of your adventure.

I’m completely in love with natural moments and genuine smiles, with a subtle editorial and classic touch. I love capturing the raw essence of true love shared between two beautiful soulmates who, over time, will create a beautiful family. I feel that every story has a touch of an old romantic movie, and I enjoy capturing each story this way.

On the wedding day, I’m low profile; I like to photograph every moment exactly as it is happening. A wedding is a unique and special day for each couple, and every detail deserves to be photographed with love and every moment captured with sensitivity. I love photographing with natural light throughout your day, but at night, flash is my passion.

For me, it’s more than just capturing the perfect photo, it’s about documenting raw love in a simple and natural way. It’s about creating the perfect experience from beginning to end!
